Tree Services
From simple maintenance jobs to full tree removal, carried out in a safe, professional and efficient manner.Pruning & crown cleaning
This means removing dead, dying or diseased wood, stubs of broken branches, crossing/rubbing branches, unwanted epicormic growth (twiggy growth from the side of your tree) and climbing plants such as ivy, for either aesthetic or health and safety reasons. This improves the appearance in addition to safety.
Pollarding
Some trees cannot be pollarded. This involves the removal of all live growth to main branch “stubs” or main stem (In some cases and on some trees this can cause branch failure or even death of the tree – the applicability is always discussed before any work is undertaken)
Crown reduction and shaping
Some (but not all) trees can be reduced in spread and height while retaining a natural tree shape by crown reduction and/or reshaping. This is carried out by expertly pruning back to a suitable point – side bud or branch – to retain a naturally-shaped crown.
Crown thinning
This involves removing a proportion of secondary and small, live branch growth throughout the crown to produce foliage evenly around a well-spaced and balanced crown structure.
Crown lifting
This involves removing lower branches to a given height above ground level.
Tree removal
Straight fell or sectioning and dismantling.
Stump and root removal
The stump and main roots may be removed by grinding or digging often using a stump grinder (to a specified depth).
Hedgelaying
A management practice used for hundreds of years. The correct management of our hedgerows is essential if we are to conserve our wildlife and landscape for future generations.
Log splitting
With our log splitter we can split your felled wood on site.
Tidying
Branch debris can be processed into wood chip to be recycled, or wood can be stacked for habitat, left for firewood or removed from site leaving your property clean and tidy.
Tree safety assessments and written reports
Over time inspection of your trees may be advisable for safety reasons, possibly where an area is open to the public or where young children are present, or to check on current condition and identify possible future problems. These are best identified and addressed at an early stage.

Thank you for doing such a good job on the large copper beach tree in our front garden.
We asked Matthew to come and cut it back for us. He came as arranged and did a very tidy and professional job.
